What we do
Local residents set up Tarvin Civic Trust in the early 1970s so that they could effectively express their views on our Village Centre to the Local Planning Authority and could lobby for its designation as a Conservation Area, an outcome which was successfully achieved in 1973. Some 40 years later Tarvin Civic Trust's main purpose continues to be the expression of local views on Tarvin's built environment to Cheshire West and Chester's Planning and Conservation Departments.
Tarvin Civic Trust enjoys a good working relationship with Tarvin Parish Council and, as an independent village organisation, is able to apply for and secure charitable awards for projects to improve the local environment. Tarvin Civic Trust is also able to draw on the knowledge of its members in organisational matters for the benefit of the local community.
Apart from these activities, Tarvin Civic Trust's enjoys a flourishing social calendar and during the winter holds a series of monthly Open Meetings with invited speakers on a range of subjects. The programme can be found on its web site.
Annual rates of subscription are: Individual member £9, Family membership £15, Visitors £4
